CMS, ONC issue Federal Register rulemaking

On January 13, CMS published in the Federal Register a proposed rule to specify the initial criteria a hospital would have to meet under the electronic health record (EHR) incentive program, including the “meaningful use” of health information technology. The same day, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) published a related interim final rule.
